Trial: Large crowd gathers after rumours Kartel set free
Yesterday police had to remove a large group of people mainly teenage school kids who had gathered in front of the Supreme Court where the murder trial of dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel is being heard.

The crowd was drifting the nearby streets after rumours that Kartel had been freed of the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.

There was no morning session yesterday because of the fact that the Digicel telecommunications expert who was to appear in court yesterday could not attend court to give evidence. It was believed that because of no session this morning kartel was set free thus the gaza artiste fans were out in their numbers.

Vybz Kartel, and the other four accused for the killing of dancer Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams returned yesterday to the Home Circuit Court in downtown, Kingston. The Police believes that dancer ‘Lizard’ was murdered on August 16, 2011 two years ago at Vybz karel’s Home in Havendale, St Andrew.

The police later insisted that the crowd leave from in front of the Home Circuit Court.

They complied and instead gathered close by on Church Street.

Meanwhile, when the Kartel trial resumed at 2 p.m it was further adjourned until tomorrow as no witness was present.

An early adjournment was also granted yesterday to allow defence lawyers to interview the telecommunications experts.

However, this morning defence lawyer, Tom Tavares-Finson told the court that when the defence team went to the company’s headquarters in downtown Kingston yesterday, the attorneys were told that the systems were down.

He said the defence team stayed for about one hour but there was no change.
