In recent times, album sales worldwide have been on the downturn, though Mr Vegas, who has released two in just over a year, is working hard to get his songs to the world.
In May 2012, Mr Vegas launched a reggae album, entitled “Sweet Jamaica” and followed that with “Bruk It Down 2.0” on September 24 this year.
Since its release, he stated that “Bruk It Down 2.0” has been “doing fairly well. It’s good, people love the album“.
“It’s online and we just out there selling CDs at concerts. You just have to give thanks. CDs don’t sell in stores so much anymore, we have to basically take it to the people,” he said, noting that in recent times, he sold the album at shows all over the world.
He goes on, “To put out an album one year later is not such a bad thing.”
From the new releases, Mr Vegas said an artiste is kept popular through promotion of the album and tours.
“Dancehall is at a stage where the reality is that we are not looking for high numbers. I just want to make sure the album is good and people have access to it,” he said, adding that people can get music for free through various online platforms.

Although it seems there is method to the insanity of releasing two albums in a short time-frame, “Bruk It Down 2.0” was spontaneous.
“I started working on this when I was doing a straight-up reggae album. I was just in the studio and Danny Browne asked if I did an album for Bruk It Down. There are so many happy songs on the album. It took me away from a low point,” Mr Vegas stated, of the album that was released by his own MV Music label.
Although “Bruk It Down 2.0” was only released a few weeks ago, he said he is already working on yet a next album.
“I have to create a catalogue. It is important for me to leave a legacy. It is important for me to keep putting out albums,” he said.
