Elephant man, The Energy God, is back, and near everyone agrees that ‘him find it’. Available on all platforms today, the multi talented dancehall deejay’s latest, long-anticipated song is a much larger project than it appears.
Not just any dancehall song, Find It is the first overture of a fiery musical production outfit, full of popular, accomplished entertainers and creative professionals called BadCoMpany/DSR.
On Wednesday, DSR’s Skatta Burrell posted a video teaser of Find It to his Instagram. The star-studded clip is set in a Downsound Records’ studio, showing a company of happy, dancing stars holding a high-energy vibe.
Within 24 hours, it rapidly climbed to more than 45,000 views, and generated a stream of comments, saluting Elephant Man’s return to the dancehall dancefloor – which has been asked for by Ding Dong and the Ravers for quite a while.
“We haffi hail up Ding Dong. Everybody ah do dem ting. Nobody nuh come tek nuttin fi nobody. Everybody have them own ting weh dem do. Everybody have them own lane,” Elephant Man said.
For the sake of re-positioning dancehall music as a genre deserving of respect – Elephant Man, Ce’Cile, Skatta Burrell, Kunley (Ward 21), Leftside, Bulby York, Ikel Marvelous, Shelly Belly, and Joe Bogdanovich together form BadCoMpany/DSR.
“We trying to bring across the dancehall music to the fans in the best way as possible. There is a time for us to unite for a cause. This is for music. This is our mission. And we ah do it the right way,” Elephant Man said.
